Just like any USB drive all you do is plug the XS1000 into an open USB port in your computer. Keep in mind the cable that comes with the XS1000 is USB-C to USB-A so if you are using this drive with a laptop that only has USB-C ports you’ll need to get an adapter or another cable.
The drive comes formatted as exFAT and the 2TB version of the drive has 1.81 TB of usable space.
For testing we will be running the XS1000 against other portable solid state drives we have on hand so you can see the difference between the drives. As a reminder Kingston lists the speeds of this drive as 1050 MB/s read and 1000 MB/s write. First up we have CrystalDiskMark.

Next we run the the AJA System test. It tests different types of video formats and gives you throughput results for the drive. Our configuration was 4K RED HD footage, 1 GB test file size, and the 10bit YUV codec.
